How to Find Your Dometic or Thetford RV Toilet Model Number

Knowing your toilet’s model number is essential for ordering replacement parts, performing maintenance, or troubleshooting issues. Follow these steps to locate it quickly.

Step 1: Identify the Brand

  • Check your toilet for brand markings.

    • Dometic toilets are usually labeled with a logo on the seat, lid, or base.

    • Thetford toilets often have a logo on the seat hinge, lid, or flush pedal.

Step 2: Check the Seat Lid or Top of Bowl

  • Open the toilet lid.

  • Look on the underside of the seat lid or the rim of the bowl.

  • Many model numbers are printed, stamped, or molded into the plastic.

  • Examples of Dometic models: 385310790, 385344088, 385312113.

  • Examples of Thetford models: Aqua-Magic V, Aqua-Magic IV, 5500 series.

Step 3: Look on the Toilet Base

  • Carefully inspect the base of the toilet, especially near the back or sides where the toilet meets the floor.

  • Some Dometic models have a metal plate or molded number on the base.

  • Thetford often includes a sticker with a barcode and model information.

Step 4: Check Under the Seat Hinge or Pedal Area

  • Many RV toilets hide the model number under the seat hinge covers or around the foot pedal assembly.

  • Remove the hinge cover if necessary—usually, they snap off without tools.

  • Look for a number stamped into the plastic or printed on a sticker.

Step 5: Consult the User Manual or Manufacturer Documentation

  • If you still can’t find the model number:

    • Locate the original RV or toilet manual—model numbers are often printed on the first pages.

    • Contact the RV manufacturer or Dometic/Thetford customer service with photos of your toilet—they can usually identify your model.

Tips

  • Take a photo of any numbers or stickers you find—it helps when ordering parts.

  • Model numbers often begin with 3853xxxx (Dometic/SeaLand) or series names like Aqua-Magic IV (Thetford).

  • If your RV has multiple toilets, check each unit—they may be different models.
